Giving Back / By Bailey Homa

Giving back is a lot more than a moral obligation. It’s a way to strengthen the surrounding community. Building relationships with local charities is something GA Telesis prides itself on. Working here as an intern for the summer, I have seen how passionate this team is about giving back. Events like bake sales and t-shirt sales, may seem minor, but bring together “Team Telesis” because they care about the bigger picture. There are people out there that need help, and the GA Telesis Community wants to be the ones to help them.
Their current Community Partner is the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Each year GA Telesis dedicates their fundraising efforts to granting a wish for a child through this foundation. This past year, the team raised $5,000, which was used to make a little girl’s wish come true with a trip to Walt Disney World. The gift was presented at an “Under the Sea” party, complete with an appearance by Ariel and Eric from the Little Mermaid, hosted by GA Telesis.
The generosity is not limited to just one organization. For many years GA Telesis has also partnered with Kids in Distress. They do annual holiday toy drives and have helped to remodel a foster care home on the KIDS property; team members at GA Telesis put 100% into giving to those who need it most.
In the coming weeks, GA Telesis will be donating scrap parts to Broward College for their students pursuing a career in aviation maintenance. These parts are from newer generation aircraft so the students get firsthand experience with working on aircraft parts. GA Telesis is helping to teach future aviation mechanics through these donations.
Passion is what drives the team here at GA Telesis. They have a passion to build a stronger community and their commitment to giving back is what is truly inspiring.
